BORN AND BASED in Cornwall my inspiration lies in the scenes and experiences of every day life. Buildings and locations have a profound and personal influence on me as a visual artist.
Capturing a scene with its hustle, bustle, colour, vibrancy and excitement is of particular importance to me. I would describe myself as an expressionist painter who paints contemporary scenes from everyday life.
Examples of this can be seen in my paintings of Cornish scenes such as Porthleven Harbour, Truro, Penzance and Coverack. I have also enjoyed painting urban scenes from my frequent visits to London, Exeter and Plymouth.
Whilst achieving a BA Hons degree in Fine Art with Plymouth University I was awarded the Ben Hartley Prize for outstanding fine art.
I have exhibited at the South West Academy of Fine Art Summer Open Exhibition and the St Ives Society Open Figurative Exhibition. I have work in galleries in Falmouth and Truro and in private collections in Cornwall, Brighton, Glasgow and London.
